COMUNE DI POLPENAZZE DEL GARDA
The municipality of Polpenazze d / G is located in the province of Brescia and administers a population of few thousand inhabitants. The municipal administration is the promoter of many local projects affecting citizenship, especially young people. The Youth Policy, School of Culture and Leisure Policy Department has promoted projects aimed at promoting the value of European integration, solidarity among people, knowledge of other cultures, listening to young people, and last but not least the participation of young people in the opportunities offered by the European Union.
The city is a popular holiday destination in Southern Europe. It attracts tourists from the immediate area owing to its beautiful view of the Lake Garda and for living its countryside. The general scope of work of the Municipality is to soustain the growth of its territory providing condition for development.
Within its competences, the Municipality is in charge to manage the School, Childhood, Youth and Equal Opportunities, Social services, and in general the development of its territory. Within these areas the Municipality has the following commitments:
- Municipality Youth Center, to give an answer to many of the necessities of the Youth and encourage them in a dynamic form to participate, to attend at training courses, and activities pro and for leisure and free time, and at the same time to prevent harmful habits within the Yout. Moreover, trought this Youth Center, the Municipality wants to stimulate the participation of the individuals as well as the associations with a great range of different types of programmes and activities and with diversified objectives. A globalizes approach to youth leisure, which can provide a comprehensive response to the socio-cultural needs of the young;
- Help the development of the civil society and incorporation of young people into its democratic values and principles;
- Stimulate the unrestricted exchange of ideas and information, intellectual values and models of cooperation.
- Promote quality education, social help and qualification of young people;
- Help integration and socialization of people with disabilities, ethnic minority groups and young people in the lowest income bracket;
- Promote the European integration.
ARTE E CULTURA SOCIALE
ARCUS Association is an independent youth association in the town of Bedizzole around an hour north of Milan, Italy which provides a space for teenagers from their first year in secondary school and upwards.
The Association was founded in 2007 and has officially opened a youth space in January 2015 and currently has around one hundred members and twenty youth leaders.
The mission of the Arcus Association is enriching the lives of youth through intercultural learning, by using a non-formal education and youth program actions in order to encourage the youth participation in the international context, so abolishing the barriers between countries, reducing the racism and promoting the tolerance between different cultures. ARCUS provide and foster mobility opportunities for young people to help them improve their educational and professional skills through the promotion of multiculturalism, exchange of good practices, and an “active European Citizenship”. The organization pursues these aims through the implementation and management of youth engagement programs, such as the Voluntary projects, training courses or youth exchanges. Arcus contribute to more inclusive and open society for all. Our two leading programs therefore deal with inclusion of socially excluded groups and with the stimulation of the NGO development and civil dialogue. Our activities within the programs are performed by expert and voluntary work. We promote the values of solidarity, itizens participation… promoting activities in education for youth especially for NEETs and disadvantaged youth
USIT
Usit Organization is situated in El Altet, a rural area that is part of Elche (the city); there are 2000 inhabitants in this area.
Usit is an association dedicated to promoting youth and adult activities in the rural area of El Altet; we also dedicate ourselves to the achievement and participation at European projects.
The main aim is a support of initiatives, development of competence in the local community. Among target groups belong adults and elderly people, people from rural and disadvantages areas.
We develop different courses for the young and adults to support the employability and personal development.
We want the participation in the local community of the young people, adult and active life style of elderly people by learning, sharing experience and new learning opportunities using diverse tools. We have a branch in the organization that is focused on environmental activities by workshops, trainings, running group, campaigns.
Environmental activities, dance club, cultural activities, sport club, traditional adult club, international club are our activities. We also organize activities with adult people, handcrafts and media activities, develop innovative techniques and traditional ecological farming.
We also help the farmers in the development of their skills related to social networks (We do courses for them on facebook, webpages, social media, soft skills) and English lessons. During the year we do different workshops, campaigns and activities related to recycling, environmental protection, waste, pollution.
We have a large partnership in the local area where we can share and develop activities during the project related to the topic. We are involve in a Leonardo project related to efficient use of the resources
Also we had last year a Grundtvig related to the recover of traditional use of the plants.
EDUCATOR
Educator is an association, non-profit non-governmental organisation.
Educator was established in 2012 with main purpose to support and activate adults, seniors, children, young people and public.
Main aim is to inform, educate, create opportunities for personal development and create diverse offers for the target groups, their leisure time and active involvement, to enrich the communities in the region.
The aim and objectives are fulfilled through the :
- providing educational and informational activities
- developing opportunity for the personal development, employability and adults education
- supporting and providing the non-formal education
- working in the field of environmental awareness, culture, art, sport, heathy life
- supporting the intergenerational dialog
- developing the international cooperatio in the field of education, youth work
- developing non-formal activities in the rural areas
- contributing to employability through the non-formal educational activities
- creating the opportunities for the sustainable development, urban and rural development
- providing the activities in the field of citizens‘ education, active democracy, protection of human rights, civil society, participation, European issues and development of the information
- providing of social, cultural and sport events and activities
- supporting the iniciatives and ideas for the leisure time
- assistance and advocacy for inclusion and integration of the people with fewer opportunities, disadvantaged people and neet´s
- organizing the sport competitions and activities for the community
- providing the facilitation and training and outdoor activities
- cooperating with the authorities, individuals, NGOs, enterpreneurs
Variety of the topics are tools for cooperations, meeting point, cooperation among the generation and exchange of the experience.
AKETH
Anaptyxiako Kentro Thessalias – AKETH [Developmental Centre OfThessaly – D.C.T.], located in Trikala, Greece, is a non-profit continuing vocational education & training (VET) center/provider. AKETH was founded in 2004 in Trikala – Greece. AKETH as a non-profit organization uses its surplus revenues to further achieve its purpose or mission. Its revenues derive by its activities operating as international VET provider, offering counseling services and providing e-solutions through AKETH lab.
AKETH is aligned with the E.U. strategic framework about fighting the rising levels of unemployment –particularly among young people. It is the same risk which threats a high number of adult workers, resulting in phenomena of social exclusion and the increase of poverty. Such phenomena are more and more appearing, threatening the social cohesion and standard of living. The main way to confront the above is through the improvement of provided education/training in terms of quality and efficiency. AKETH’s mission is to provide certified education & training opportunities, counseling & personal development in order to contribute in their life improving.
AKETH-DCT operates as a typical nonprofit organization. It is governed by the board of directors. The board is responsible for the policy of the organization and derives its jurisdiction from the Constitution of the Organization. The board’s work is coordinated by the chair and the board may organize itself into various committees responsible for carrying out different operations. An executive director is responsible for the management of AKETH according to the strategic direction set by the board. She is also responsible for the day-to- day operation of AKETH.
AKETH is certified VET provider by the National Accreditation Organization forVocational Training/Skills.
Moreover AKETH has been certified as adult educators/trainers examination center by E.O.P.P.E.P.‟ s [National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP)] Certification of Educational Attainment for Non-Formal Education Adult Educators AKETH has been awarded for the implementation of its exemplary vocational education and training projects under Leonardo da Vinci programme over the year 2011 from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY – Greek National Agency). Our organization is making a constant effort to contribute substantially to equal access to knowledge in the society, to promote sustainability, healthy behavior and to shape a better future for humans. One of our main objectives is to promote entrepreneurship and personal initiative, as we believe it is the main way to help people get through the hard situation of unemployment that strikes many countries in Europe and especially on the southeastern part.
